Business diagnostics for service businesses
Business diagnostics is a structured review of how your business runs today, from the first inquiry through delivery and payment, ending in a ranked list of what to fix first. It is the starting point for our consulting work, and it looks at the whole business rather than one function.
- Data review across marketing, sales, operations and finance
- Interviews with key team members
- Customer journey and process review
- Systems and tools review
What a diagnosis looks at
A diagnosis follows the path of your customers and your money. How people find you, how inquiries are answered, how work is quoted and booked, how it is delivered, how you get paid and how customers come back. Along the way, it looks at the systems, data and people behind each step.
The aim is to find the few constraints that limit everything else. Most businesses have one or two, and fixing them matters more than improving ten things that are already working.
We also look for what is working. Strong referral rates, a service that closes easily or a team member who consistently gets great reviews are strengths to build on, and a plan that ignores them tends to fix weaknesses while missing the fastest path to growth.
What we review
We combine your data with conversations with your team.
- Marketing reach and lead sources
- Lead response and conversion
- Quoting, pricing and close rates
- Scheduling, capacity and delivery
- Invoicing, collections and service profitability
- Customer retention and repeat business
- Tools, data quality and team roles
What you receive
The diagnosis ends with a written report in plain language. It explains what we found, backed by your numbers, and ranks the recommended changes by expected impact and effort. Each recommendation states what to do, why, who should own it and how to measure it.
We walk through the report with you on Google Meet and answer questions before you decide anything.
Where data is missing or unreliable, the report says so plainly and includes the steps to start capturing it, because a gap in the numbers is a finding in its own right.
Why start here
Without a diagnosis, businesses often fix what is most visible or most annoying rather than what matters most. A new website will not help if inquiries go unanswered. More ads will not help if quotes take a week. The diagnosis puts effort in the right order.
It also gives you a baseline, so future improvements can be measured against where you started.
