Website maintenance for service businesses

The short answer

Monvell's website maintenance keeps an existing website updated, secure and working: software updates, security monitoring, form and tracking checks, speed fixes and content changes. It is for businesses that already have a site they want to keep, while our Websites service covers a new build plus management.

What does website maintenance include?

Websites need regular care even when nothing visible changes. The platform, theme and plugins release updates, many of them security fixes. Forms can stop delivering after a change somewhere else. Tracking can break. Pages slow down as images and scripts pile up. Content goes out of date.

Maintenance handles all of that on a schedule, so the site keeps working and problems are found by us rather than by a customer.

Skipping maintenance tends to fail in one of two ways. Either the site gets hacked through an outdated plugin, or a pile of postponed updates breaks the site when someone finally installs them all at once. Small, regular, tested updates avoid both.

What we check and do

Each site gets a maintenance plan based on its platform and how it is used.

  • Platform, theme and plugin updates, tested before going live
  • Security monitoring and malware scanning
  • Form submissions tested end to end
  • Analytics and conversion tracking checks
  • Speed checks and fixes
  • Broken link and error monitoring
  • Content updates for hours, services, staff and offers

Why forms and tracking get special attention

A broken form is one of the costliest website problems because it fails silently. The page looks fine, customers fill it out and the inquiry goes nowhere. The same goes for tracking: if conversions stop recording, marketing decisions are made on bad data.

We test forms and tracking on a schedule and after every update.

We also check that inquiries reach the right person. A form that delivers to an old employee's inbox or an unmonitored address is just as broken as one that fails outright, and that problem is surprisingly common after team changes.

When maintenance is not enough

Some sites are too old, slow or fragile to maintain well. If updates keep breaking things, the platform is no longer supported or the design is holding back conversions, we tell you and explain what a rebuild would change.

Until then, we keep your current site working as well as it can.

If a rebuild is the right call, the maintenance history helps: we already know what visitors use, what breaks and what the new site needs to fix.

Signs it is time to fix this

Your site shows warnings about pending updates nobody installs.
You found out a form was broken when a customer told you.
Your hours, services or team page are out of date.
